CALL OUT: DEADLINE SEPTEMBER 15TH 2021

Paid job opportunity: We are looking for homeless individuals

Have you ever felt homeless?

Are you not staying at a place that you can call your home? Are you interested in performance art, drawing, writing or another type of creative work?

Supported by the Trinity Laban Innovation Award, the recently founded dance company Engholm Danseteater offers paid roles for young

adults in the age of 18-28 who identify as hidden homeless to become storytellers in the new community collaborative work Love Stories.

The piece explores the theme of love in all its shapes, colours and sizes. The company encourages everyone to apply despite location, performance experience, and what type of homelessness you are experiencing/have experienced in the past.

You have the freedom to choose your own level of engagement in the project. Some of the potential roles to choose from are as performer, co-choreographer, writer/storyteller, co-composer, costumier, photographer, videographer or technical support. Please specify your preference(s) in your application. The role as writer/storyteller can be done remotely if you do not feel comfortable attending physically. In this case, participants can send their material in writing or audio file.

This project is a unique opportunity to share your stories with your community and build poetic bridges between you and your audience. You will take part in interesting workshops that will increase your knowledge about performative work and explore creative working methods from modern dance, physical theatre and poetry. To start the process, you will take part in two workshops where you will get introduced to working in a studio and to various artistic working methods. Hereafter, follows the paid creation period which will be distributed over a three-four weeks period. Engholm Danseteater reserves its right to modify this schedule if necessary.

Please apply by expressing your interest via email to artistic leader Laura Engholm before September 15th 2021. Please answer the following questions in your application:

1) Name, age, location

2) Please describe the place in which you are staying at the moment.

3) Are you or have you ever felt homeless? (if yes, please elaborate)
